Batman Movie

AMC Tallahassee

VtS and I went to see the new Batman, the Dark Knight movie at the AMC theaters in Tallahassee, FL, USA. We had bought the ticket two weeks ago and the movie opened two days ago at midnight.

The movie was long 2 1/2 hours and it was okay. But VtS enjoyed it.

Replace the back door

We went ahead and replaced the back door since part of it had rotten over the years and we were worried about frogs and beetles living the crack. We also added a screen door. All the work was done through Home Depot Door replacement service. We paid them and two contract workers came and completed the job over one afternoon. They have done a good job!

Heavy Downpour, Hail, Thunder and Lightning

The rain started to come down around 5:30 PM. As we were driving home from work at the intersection of Miccosukee and Magnolia garbanzo  bean-sized hail started to fall on our car. The hail then quickly turned into heavy rain drops. But the rains stopped around 6:15 PM. We thought everything was OK.

Then around 9:45 it started again. This time around our neighborhood there was less of rain and hail but we couldn’t sleep due to the loud and constant rumbling of the thunder and almost blinding lightning. Most of the thunder and lightning seemed to be confined to the south and southeastern part of the Leon county. It went on and on for about 1 1/2 hour. Then it started rain slightly. When it was done it was almost 11:45 PM.

2008 Father’s Day Dinner

VTS treated me for a mexian food at Morelia Mexican Dining today evening. He earned the money by working. We had good food at the restaurant and it was quite and quick. We were back home with in 90 minutes since the time we left.

Backyard with out fencing

Our backyard was open until today. But soon we will erect a fence to guard the backside. There was too much noise and light pollution from the road leading to our backyard. So soon this area will be covered with a 6 feet tall privacy wood fence.

Sarvathri Tamil New Year Program

We celebrated Sarvathari Tamil New Year as Chithirai Sirappu Vizah (Chithirai Special Function). About 70 adults and children from Tamil families attended the cultural program and the potluck dinner that followed it.

Parade Participation, Saturday, March 29, 2008

10:30 - 11:30 AM, Downtown Tallahassee, FL

VTS and I participated in the 4oth Springtime Tallahassee Festivities under the Asian Coalition of Tallahassee (ACT) banner and walked the 1 and 1/2 mile parade. About 12 Indian Americans walked along side people from China, TaPhillipines, Philippines, and Thailand.

Our full group consisted of about 80 people from all the countries of Asian Coalition. Then there were three dragons (two from Chinese Martial Arts Group) and one from Taiwan (student Dragon).

BHPS Year End Show

Thursday & Friday, February 14-15, 2008; 7-9 PM

Quincy Music Theater, Quincy, FL

VTS performed as Drake in the musical Honk! (story of the Ugly Duckling) for his Year End Show. The cast consisted of 70 people and was performed two days in LEAF Theater at the historical town of Quincy, FL. The director Mister Scott and the cast put on wonderful performance to an audience of about 200 people.

The cast has been practing for more than two months. The performance was well received. This was VTS’s first musical production, even though he has done several drama, Honk! represented the first musical with a major role.

Congrats to all and VTS!
