Lunar Eclipse Seen from Lake Ella
Wednesday, February 21, 2008
8:30 to 9:30 PM
Lake Ella, Tallahassee, FL 32303
We went to Lake Ella and spent about an hour looking at the lunar eclipse tonight. There were probably hundred or so people at the gazebo area. Tallahassee Astronomical Society had set-up couple of telescope to view the event. We were able to see the Orion nebulae, Saturn and its rings, moon during 1/4 covered and 1/2 covered with Earth’s shadow. There were couple of low clouds but the night was crisp and not very cold. Good night to observe the lunar eclipse. By the time we got home around 10:05 PM the full moon was covered with Earth’s shadow.
